British Veteran Fencing Championships, Gloucester 2014

Tuesday 3rd June 2014

The British Veteran Fencing Championships, which were held in Gloucester at the weekend, saw Nicola Hull winning a bronze medal, and hopefully securing a place on the GB veteran’s team for the European Championships to be held in Croatia this May.

Nicola had to fight her way up through the completion having dropped 3 fights in the poule.

Her Direct Elimination fights included a 10-3 win followed by a 10-7 victory against Jenny Morris, who had previously beaten her by one hit at the finals of the Aldershot Open in January, and a 10-6 victory against Caryl Oliver who was seeded 3rd after the poule.

In her quarter final fight Nicola was narrowly beaten by Jane Clayton, who was keen to win having been knocked out of the competition last year by Nicola.

Next time Nicola, next time!
