Dream Fencing Summer Camp 2014

Our summer camp this year delivered full on training, technique and fun.  As usual we had a fabulous team supporting us.

Fencing footwork, blade work and individual lessons were conducted by head coach Yosif Angelinov.  Concentration was demanded, fitness extended and laughs needed as everyone had fun and improved.

Stella delivered the athletics and fitness training, focussing on how to get the fencing student to develop the strength and stamina needed for our sport.

We were delighted to welcome a new addition to our team this year in the shape of Matthew Cunliffe - Sport and Exercise Psychologist (final year Chartership).  Matthew directed our focus at the psychology involved in making the most of the job in hand and is a very welcome addition to our summer camp team.  He added a great deal of professional insight into our approach to our sporting ambitions and training.

Another new and valuable member of our team is Corinna Kehaya - PhD Student, School of Sport and Exercise Sciences.  Corinna facilitated an excellent workshop on the Introduction of Performance Nutrition.  There will be no excuse for sugar lows or dehydration headaches from now on!

We had an instructive and enjoyable camp this year which has helped us prepare for the coming season.
