London Leon Paul Junior Series Epee - 01/02/2014

Thursday 2nd January 2014

Nine of our young fencers took part in the Leon Paul Junior Series Epee competition on Saturday 1st February.  Our juniors travelled to London to the new, beautifully appointed, Leon Paul Fencing Centre.

In the under 9 girls competition Anna Gardner won 4 out of her 6 poule fights to secure her second seed in the knockouts, and then fought her way through to a well-earned silver medal.

In the under 11 girls competition it was very unfortunate that Maja Kazmierczak and Lily Madgwick met each other in the opening fight of the knockout stage, denying Dream Fencing a chance of a higher individual finish.  However, Lily overcame a spirited fight from Maja and went on to add to her silver in Alencon with a bronze here.

It was great to see our other fencers, Jaden Ajao, Sebastian Davies, Joshua Ajao, Muhammed Farnsworth, Ibraheem Farnsworth and Benjamin Chambers take part in the competiton.  They all had their ups and downs butwill take their experiences onto their next events.

Well done all.
